���The Italian engineers have proved themselves among the best in the world. Time and again the Austrians have been surprised by having shells dropped upon them, apparently from the skies. The Italians had dragged huge guns up precipitous mountain slopes and were safely installed out of the enemy's range on plateaus, from which shells were fired over mountains.
