we shall hear again when we come to the Deccan wars of Aurangzib. It is now time to turn to a new invasion of India from the northwest, which gradually converted a country divided among numerous petty dynasties into a united and powerful empire, and founded the long line of the great Moghuls which endured to the days of the Mutiny.
