Bird- Lore The adjustment of the mirrors was a very delicate operation, and a number of negatives were made that did not contain the reflected nest because of a very slight error in directing the rays of light. Diagram showing the direction of the rays of light from the sun to the mirror on the ground; then to the • mirror in the nest hole; then to the eggs, back to the mirror, and finally into the camera. There are an infinite number of cases where the mirror method may be used with success. I have in my collection photographs of Cliff Swal- lows, Chimney Swifts, Lark Sparrows, Louisiana Water Thrushes, Phcebes, House Wrens, and several other birds made with the aid of these reflectors.
