Benson, Ralph Augustus, police magistrate at Southwark police court 1867-79, recorder of Shrewsbury 1866-79, educated at Christ Church, Oxon, J.P. Salop, a student of the Inner Temple 27 April, 1850 (then aged 21), called to the bar 26 Jan., 1854 (eldest son of Moses George Benson, Esq., of Lutwyche Hall, Salop); born 11 Oct., 1828; married 7 Aug., 1860, Henrietta Selina, only dau. of late Charles Robert Cockerell, Esq., R.A., and has issue (see Foster's Baronetage, Rushout).
