D. L. Howard, John Thompson, and William Lafaire, who were employed in the Quartermaster's Department at San Francisco, Cal., incident to the earthquake and fire of April, 1906, as unskilled laborers for the performance of unclassified duties, without reference to the labor regulations, and who are still in the service, may be retained and shall have the same status as laborers selected from the labor registers.
The retention of any other laborers employed under the same circumstances may be authorized by the Civil Service Commission.
