Executive Order 7648 of June 28, 1937
Waiving Provisions of Executive Order of January 17, 1873, as to Douglas Armstrong
By virtue of and pursuant to the authority vested in me by section 1753 of the Revised Statutes of the United States (U.S.C., title 5, sec. 631), the provisions of the Executive Order of January 17, 1873, as amended, prohibiting, with certain exceptions, officers and employees of the United States from holding any office under any state, territorial, or municipal government, are hereby waived as to Douglas Armstrong, Director of Police for the Municipality of St. Croix, Virgin Islands, so as to permit him to be appointed to and hold the office of United States Marshal for the Virgin Islands.
