This is the Department of the Interior's description of the Executive Order, not the order text itself.
On March 31, 1905, the President directed the amendment of the above [ Executive Order 288½ ] by adding at the end thereof the following paragraph:
- This order shall not apply to oaths of disinterestedness, or other oaths required to be made by law, provided that the work in connection therewith is not performed during office hours.
