Biferi, Nicolas, of the Neapolitan school of musicians, was born at Naples in 1739. The characteristics of his style of composition are facility and good taste. After leaving a favor-able impression of his talents in Italy, he went to Paris, where he was appointed a chapel-master. He then published a work entitled "Trait de Musique abrg," in which the arts of singing, accompaniment on the piano-forte, composition, and fugue are well taught, in language remarkable for its perspicuity.
