Maiden name Emma Keats Speed; American journalist, film censor and author of humorous novels and juvenile fiction. She continued the Mary Louise series of girls' novels after the death of its creator L. Frank Baum and is best remembered for her children's books series, Miss Minerva and William Green Hill, created using the characters of a popular book of the same name by Frances Boyd Calhoun.
