Albert Payson Terhune
(1872–1942)
 

American journalist, author, and dog fancier; saw moderate success as an author of general fiction, then gained his greatest acclaim when he began writing books featuring fictionalized versions of his own rough collies. His mother was Mary Virginia Terhune (pseud. Maron Harland).
