Zhao Zhongxiang

Zhao Zhongxiang (赵忠祥; January 16, 1942 – January 16, 2020) was a Chinese news anchor on the national news program Xinwen Lianbo and television host. He joined China Central Television in 1959. He was born in Hebei, China. Zhao hosted CCTV New Year's Gala.

Zhao was diagnosed with liver cancer around December 2019. He died in Beijing on January 16, 2020 of the disease at the age of 78.[1]
