Austrian car number plates are required vehicle registration plates in Austria. The plate have the registration mark(German: Kennzeichen) of motor vehicles in Austria. They are used to show that cars are legal to be used on the streets. The plates are also proof of a liability insurance and are used to identify the vehicle.
