Umaro Sissoco Embaló

Umaro Mokhtar Sissoco Embaló (born 23 September 1972) is a politician. He is the President of Guinea-Bissau since February 2020.[2] He is a political scientist and military officer. He was prime minister between 18 November 2016 and 16 January 2018.[3]

In February 2022, a failed coup d'état that killed six people tried to remove Embaló from power.[4]
