Trevor Platt
Trevor Charles Platt, FRS, FRSC (August 12, 1942 – April 6, 2020) was a British biological oceanographer. He was known for his fundamental works to quantifying primary production by phytoplankton at many scales of space and time in the ocean.[1] He was born in Salford, Greater Manchester, England.
Platt worked with the Partnership for Observation of the Global Ocean (POGO). He was a visiting Professor there in 2005, and then as its Executive Director from 2008 to 2015.
Platt died on April 6, 2020 in Plymouth, Devon, England at the age of 77.[1]
