Sybrand van Haersma Buma
Sybrand van Haersma Buma, often just called Sybrand Buma, (born July 30, 1965 in Workum) is a Dutch politician of the Christian Democratic Appeal (CDA). He has been mayor of Leeuwarden since August 2019.

He was a member of the Second Chamber from 2002, and also parliamentary leader from 2010 till 2019.
He studied law at the University of Groningen, and worked at the Council of State and as an assistant to the CDA parliamentary group before entering into politics.
He is a Protestant. Furthermore, he is a descendant of the patrician Frisian family of Buma and partly of Jewish descent (his maternal grandmother was Jewish).
Sybrand van Haersma Buma is the son of former mayor Bernhard van Haersma Buma (died in 2020).
