Sumiteru Taniguchi
Sumiteru Taniguchi (谷口 稜曄, Taniguchi Sumiteru, January 26, 1929 – August 30, 2017) was a Japanese postman and anti-nuclear activist. He was known for being a survivor of the 1945 atomic bombing of Nagasaki, Japan. He was a well known activist for a treaty prohibiting nuclear weapons. He was chairman of the Nagasaki Council of A-Bomb Sufferers.[1]
Taniguchi died of lung and skin cancer on August 30, 2017 in Nagasaki at the age of 88.[2]
