Süleyman Demirel

Süleyman Gündoğdu Demirel, better known as Süleyman Demirel (1 November 1924 17 June 2015), was a Turkish politician. He was Prime Minister of Turkey seven times.[1] He was the ninth President of Turkey from 1993 to 2000.[2]

Demirel was born on 1 November 1924 in İslamköy, Atabey, Isparta. He studied at Istanbul Technical University. Demirel was married to Nazmiye Demirel from 1948 until her death in 2013. He died after suffering from a lung infection in Ankara, aged 90.
