Roxanne Dunbar-Ortiz (born September 10, 1938) is an American indigenous rights activist, feminist writer, and historian. She is known for her 1977 book The Great Sioux Nation.

She is Professor Emerita of Ethnic Studies at California State University, Hayward. Since retiring from university teaching,[1] she has been lecturing widely and writing.
