Raymond Damadian

Raymond Vahan Damadian (March 16, 1936 – August 3, 2022) was an American physician and medical practitioner. He was known as the inventor of the first MR (magnetic resonance) scanning machine.[1][2][3] He was born in New York City. He received a National Medal of Technology in 1988 and was honored into the National Inventors Hall of Fame in 1989.[4]

Damadian died on August 3, 2022 in Woodbury, New York at the age of 86.[5]
