Peter Montgomery (mathematician)

Peter Lawrence Montgomery (September 25, 1947 – February 18, 2020) was an American mathematician. He was born in San Francisco, California. He widely published in the more mathematical area in the field of cryptography. He was a researcher in the cryptography group at Microsoft Research. In 1992, he was awarded a Ph.D. from the University of California, Los Angeles for his work to elliptic curve method of factorization.

Montgomery died in Thailand on February 18, 2020. He was 72.[1]
