Peter V (Portuguese: Pedro V Portuguese pronunciation: [ˈpeðɾu]; 16 September 1837 – 11 November 1861), nicknamed "the Hopeful" (Portuguese: o Esperançoso), was King of Portugal from 1853 to 1861.
