Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbians and Gays
Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbians and Gays is the former acronym of PFLAG, an American organization. Since 2014 the organization has been called PFLAG. It is devoted to the cause of LGBT rights. The organization started in 1973 when Jeanne Manford watched in horror as the police of New York City ignored her gay son being thrown down an escalator, during a protest for gay rights.[1]
