Biography
Soriot was born in France and studied veterinary medicine at the École nationale vétérinaire d'Alfort. Then He completed an MBA at HEC Paris. In 1996 he became general manager of the chemical company Hoechst Marion Roussel in Australia. In 2000 he was nominated head of Aventis USA, a pharmaceutical company that changed its name to Sanofi in 2004.[1]
In 2012 he joined AstraZeneca as CEO.[2]
During the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, Soriot acted as the company's spokesperson regarding the development of a potential vaccine against the disease.[3]
