Biography

Soriot was born in France and studied veterinary medicine at the École nationale vétérinaire d'Alfort. Then He completed an MBA at HEC Paris. ​In 1996 he became general manager of the chemical company Hoechst Marion Roussel in Australia. In 2000 he was nominated head of Aventis USA, a pharmaceutical company that changed its name to Sanofi in 2004.[1]

In 2012 he joined AstraZeneca as CEO.[2]

During the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, Soriot acted as the company's spokesperson regarding the development of a potential vaccine against the disease.[3]
