Min Bahadur Sherchan

Min Bahadur Sherchan (20 June 1931 – 6 May 2017) was a Nepalese mountaineer and former British Gurkha soldier. In 2008, the 76 year old became the oldest climber to summit Mount Everest. He lost the record five years later to 80 year old Japanese mountaineer Yuichiro Miura.

Sherchan died of a suspected heart attack at Everest Base Camp on 6 May 2017 while trying to reclaim his title at the age of 85.[1][2]
