Melchor Múzquiz

José Ventura Melchor Ciriaco de Ecay-Múzquiz y Arrieta (5 January 1790 – 14 December 1844) was a Mexican soldier and politician. He was the 5th President of Mexico after president Anastasio Bustamante stepped down to lead his armies against an 1832 insurgency known as the Plan of Veracruz.
