Martin Guzmán

Martín Maximiliano Guzmán (Born October 12, 1982) is an Argentine economist and civil servant. He was Minister of Economy of Argentina from December 10, 2019 to July 2, 2022.[1]

Minister of Economy

On December 10, 2019, he was appointed as Minister of Economy of Argentina by President Alberto Fernández. His first measures were the renegotiation of the country's foreign debt and the Law of Solidarity and Productive Reactivation that created the PAÍS tax. and set a new withholding scheme. A 30% tax was set for transactions with credit cards outside the country and for the acquisition of foreign currency for savings, the rates that were in force in 2015 in the tax on personal assets were reintroduced and holdings of financial assets were taxed in the Exterior.[2][3]
