Manfred Mann (musician)

Manfred Sepse Lubbowitz[1] (born 21 October 1940), who performs as Manfred Mann, is a keyboard player originally from South Africa, but touring in England.

From his birth in 1940 until 1961, he lived in South Africa. In 1961, he moved to London, England.

Manfred formed Manfred Mann in 1962 with friend Mike Hugg. They had three songs that went to number one in the UK: "Do Wah Diddy Diddy", "Pretty Flamingo", and "Mighty Quinn".[2] When Manfred Mann (the band) ended in 1969, Mann formed Manfred Mann's Earth Band. They had a hit with a cover of Bruce Springsteen's song "Blinded by the Light".
