Mahamane Ousmane
Mahamane Ousmane (born 20 January 1950)[1] is a Nigerien politician. He was the first democratically elected and fourth President of Niger from 16 April 1993[2] until he was removed from power in a military coup d'état on 27 January 1996.

He has run for president in each election since he was removed from office, and he was president of the National Assembly from December 1999 to May 2009.
Since April 2020, he is the president of the Democratic and Republican Renewal (RDR Tchanji), the opposition party of Niger.[3]
