Magnificent Mile Lights Festival

The Magnificent Mile Lights Festival is an annual event celebrated in Chicago on the Saturday before Thanksgiving. About one million lights on 200 trees[1] brighten the city’s Michigan Avenue, also known as the Magnificent Mile. It also features notable Disney characters.

The festival is hosted by The Magnificent Mile Association.[2] It is considered one of the largest Christmas holiday celebrations in the country.

In 1992, Walt Disney, the company, officially became part of the Lights Festival, turning the event into a major tourist attraction.[3]
