Louis B. Mayer

Louis Burt Mayer (July 12, 1884 – October 29, 1957) was an American movie producer. He was born Lazar Meir to Russian Jewish parents in Minsk (which is today in Belarus). He was a part of Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer. He was a founder of the Academy Awards. He died of leukemia.
