Leon Gast

Leon Gast (March 1, 1936 – March 8, 2021) was an American documentary movie director, producer, cinematographer, and editor. He was best known for his documentary movies When We Were Kings and The Grateful Dead Movie. He won the 1996 Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature. Gast was born in Jersey City, New Jersey.

Gast died on March 8, 2021 in New York City, just one week after his 85th birthday.[1]
