Labour camp
A labour camp, labor camp or work camp is a simplified prison in which inmates are forced to do hard labor, usually as punishment for crime. Instead of prison cells, labor camp inmates are usually housed in barracks. Soviet gulags and Nazi concentration camps are some examples. Conditions at labor camps tend to be extremely harsh.
