Kuni no Tokotachi is a prominent god in shinto. He emerged from a reed
Yoshida Kanetomo, who created the Yoshida Shinto sect, said that Kuninotokotachi was the same as Ame-no-Minakanushi and thought that he was the first and most important god of the Universe.
