Kong Christian stod ved højen mast
"Kong Christian stod ved højen mast" (say: kong KRIS-tyan stohdh vidh HUY-ən mast, meaning "King Christian Stood By the Lofty Mast") is one of the two national anthems of Denmark, the other one being "Der er et yndigt land" (meaning "There is a Lovely Land"). The main difference between the two anthems is that this one is used mostly for royal and military purposes, and the other one is used for civil purposes. The lyrics were written by Johannes Ewald, the composer is unknown.[1]
