Karlovo
Karlovo (Bulgarian: Карлово) is a town in central Bulgaria. It is at the southern foot of the Balkan Mountains. About 27,500 people live there.

Karlovo is known for its rose oil, which is used in producing perfume. It is the birthplace of revolutionary Vasil Levski.
History
The region became part of the Ottoman Empire in the late 14th century. The modern town started in 1483 at the place of the village of Sushitsa, during the reign of Sultan Bayezid II.
From 1953 until 1962, the town was called Levskigrad.
