José Maranhão
José Targino Maranhão (6 September 1933 – 9 February 2021) was a Brazilian politician and businessman. He was born in Araruna, Paraíba. He was Governor of Paraíba from 2009 until 2011. He also was a member of the Brazilian Senate from 2015 until 2021. Maranhão was a member of the Brazilian Democratic Movement.

Maranhão died on 9 February 2021 in São Paulo from COVID-19 during the COVID-19 pandemic in Brazil, aged 87.[1]
