John Olsen (Australian artist)
John Henry Olsen AO OBE (21 January 1928 – 11 April 2023) was an Australian artist. He is known for his landscape artwork. He won the 2005 Archibald Prize for his portrait Self-portrait Janus-faced. He has been called "Australia's most famous living artist."[1]
Olsen was born in Newcastle, New South Wales. He grew up at Bondi Beach in Sydney.
