John Murtha
John Patrick Murtha Jr. (/ˈmɜːrθə/; June 17, 1932 – February 8, 2010) was an American politician. He was born in New Martinsville, West Virginia. Murtha, a Democrat, represented Pennsylvania's 12th congressional district in the United States House of Representatives from 1974 until his death in 2010.[1][2][3][4]

Murtha died on February 8, 2010 in Arlington, Virginia from complications of intestine surgery at the age of 77.[5]
