Jesse

Jesse was the father of King David. He is in the Book of Ruth as Ruth's future grandson (chapter 4 verse 17). He is also in the First Book of Samuel and sends David to meet with his brothers before David kills Goliath. Jesse is also mentioned in the Gospel of Matthew 1:6 as an ancestor of Jesus.
