Ioannis Tassias

Ioannis Tassias (1 October 1958 – 15 November 2020) was a Greek Orthodox bishop. He was the Metropolitan of Langadas as Ioannis of Langada from 2010 until his death in 2020. He was born in Thessaloniki, Greece.

On 13 November 2020, Tassias was hospitalized with COVID-19 in Thessaloniki.[1] He died two days later from problems caused by the infection at the age of 62.[1][2] He became the first Metropolitan of the Church of Greece to die from the pandemic.[3]
