Gonzalo Portocarrero Maisch

Gonzalo Javier Enrique Portocarrero Maisch (December 3, 1949 – March 21, 2019) was a Peruvian sociologist, social scientist and essayist. He was born in Lima, Peru. He was a visiting professor at universities in the United States, Japan, Germany, Mexico, Venezuela and the United Kingdom.[1] Until his death, he was a professor at the Department of Social Sciences of the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru.[2]

Portocarrero Maisch died of lung cancer in Lima on March 21, 2019 at the age of 69.[1]
