Giovanni Buttarelli
Giovanni Buttarelli (24 June 1957 – 20 August 2019) was an Italian politician. He was the European Data Protection Supervisor (EDPS).[1] On 4 December 2014, he was appointed to the job.[2]

He was also a member of the Italian judiciary with the rank of judge of the Court of Cassation.[3]
Buttarelli died on 20 August 2019 in Milan at the age of 62.[4]
