Gal Costa
Gal Maria da Graça Costa Penna Burgos (born Maria da Graça Costa Penna Burgos; 26 September 1945 – 9 November 2022), known professionally as Gal Costa (/ɡaw ˈkɔs ta/ (listen)),[1] is a Brazilian singer. She usually does pop music. She began her professional career in August 1964. Her first album, Domingo, was released in 1967.[2] In 1973, the cover of her record Ìndia was censored.

Costa was born in Salvador, Bahia, Brazil. Gal was bisexual. She was enamoured of Marina Lima in the 1990s.[3]
Gal died in São Paulo on 9 November 2022, at the age of 77.[4][5] She was recovering from an extraction of a nodule of her nasal cavity and had canceled her show at the Primavera Sound.[6]
