Flemish Parliament
The Flemish Parliament (Dutch: Vlaams Parlement ) is the unicameral parliament of Flanders in Belgium. It used to be called the Flemish Council (Dutch: Vlaamse Raad). It is the legislative power in Flanders in Belgium. It is in charge for matters which deal with Flanders. This is for both the geographic region and the cultural community of Belgium. This is different than the French Community of Belgium and Wallonia. They each have separate legislatures: the Parliament of the French Community and the Parliament of Wallonia).

The Flemish Parliament approves Flemish laws. They apply to all people in the Flemish Region and to Flemish institutions in Brussels. It appoints and supervises the Flemish Government. The Flemish Parliament also approves the Flemish budget. The Flemish Parliament meets in the Flemish Parliament building. It is in central Brussels. Its members and staff work in the House of the Flemish Representatives.
