Exit poll
An election exit poll is a poll of voters taken right after they leave the polling stations. These polls are usually done by private companies working for newspapers or broadcasters. Exit polls can show somewhat how an election went before the election results are announced. This is helpful because it may take hours to count the votes for many elections.
