Elizabeth Bowen

Elizabeth Bowen CBE (/ˈbən/; 7 June 1899 22 February 1973) was a British novelist and short story writer.

She was born in an Anglo-Irish family in Dublin, Ireland and wrote many books and stories that are set in Ireland. However, after 1927, she lived mostly in London, England. She began to write at a very young age.

Bowen's works include Encounters (1923), The Hotel (1927), The House in Paris (1935), The Last September (1929) , Seven Winters (1942), Bowen's Court (1942), The Heat of the Day (1949) and many others.
