Elisabeth Sladen
Elisabeth Claira Heath Sladen (1 February 1946[1] – 19 April 2011) was an English actress. She was best known for portraying the role of Sarah Jane Smith in the BBC sci-fi series Doctor Who (1973–1976, 1983, 2006, 2008, 2010). From 2007 to 2011, Sladen portrayed Sarah Jane in the CBBC spin-off series The Sarah Jane Adventures.[2] She died in Southall, west London on 19 April 2011 from cancer.[1]

Early life
Born on 1 February 1946 in Liverpool, Sladen attended the Elliott-Clarke Drama school.
