Elías Yanes Álvarez

Elias Yanes Álvarez (16 February 1928 – 9 March 2018) was a Spanish Roman Catholic bishop. He was born in Zaragoza.

Yanes Álvarez was ordained to the priesthood in 1952. He served as bishop of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Oviedo from 1970 to 1977. Yanes Álvarez then served as Archbishop of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Zaragoza from 1977 until 2005.[1]

Yanes Álvarez died in Zaragoza of complications from a fall on 9 March 2018 at the age of 90.[2]
