Efrem Zimbalist Sr.
Efrem Zimbalist, Sr. (21 April [O.S. 9 April] 1889 or 1890[1] – February 22, 1985) was a Russian-American violinist, composer, teacher, and conductor. He was director of the Curtis Institute of Music. He was married to Alma Gluck. He was the father of actor Efrem Zimbalist, Jr..
