Don Mazankowski
Donald Frank Mazankowski, PC CC AOE (July 27, 1935 – October 27, 2020) was a Canadian politician and lawyer. He was a cabinet minister under Prime Ministers Joe Clark and Brian Mulroney. He was also deputy prime minister under Mulroney from 1986 to 1993. He was a member of parliament between 1968 to 1993. He was a member of the Progressive Conservative Party.
Mazankowski was born in Viking, Alberta. He died on October 27, 2020 in Calgary, Alberta at the age of 85.[1]
Background
Mazankowski was born on July 27, 1925 in Viking, Alberta. His parents, Frank and Dora (Lonoski), came to Canada from the United States in 1921.[2]
Political Career
Mazankowski became the Finance Minister during a cabinet reshuffle in April 1991, replacing Michael Wilson.
